ARSENAL v MANCHESTER CITY BETTING PREVIEW

Arsenal have lost seven of their last 12 matches in all competitions and claimed only their second Premier League win since January 22nd when beating Middlesbrough 2-1 on Monday night. The Gunners, who currently sit 6th in the top flight standings, booked a FA CUp semi final place with a 5-0 home win over National League side Lincoln City and in the fifth round they were 2-0 winners at Sutton United. In the earlier rounds Arsenal needed a late winner away to Championship side Preston and in Round 4 they thrashed an under strength Southampton 5-0 at St. Mary’s.

Arsene Wenger may revert to his favoured 4-2-3-1 after the decision to switch to a three-man defence last time out. Defender Shkodran Mustafi has been ruled out for the FA Cup semi-final and should be replaced by Gabriel Paulista. Hector Bellerin will be looking for a recall after being dropped from the team that started against Middlesbrough. Grant Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey may keep their places in central midfield, with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez appearing certain starters in the attacking midfield positions. Theo Walcott, Alex Iwobi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are in contention for the remaining berth, as well as Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud for the lone striker position. Santi Cazorla, Lucas Perez and David Ospina are on the sidelines.

Manchester City enter this match after back to back league victories against Hull City (3-1 at home) and Southampton (3-0 away). They have lost one of their last 11 in the league, and that was a narrow squeak at leaders Chelsea. As a result, they lie in 4th position having played 32 games, two points shy of Liverpool(33 games played) with Man UTD 4 points behind them (31 games played). Pep Guardiola's men came through a quarter final tie away at Middlesbrough with a comfortable 2-0 win and they have conceded just one goal on route to this semi final. In terms of direct matches, the Citizens have won just two of their last seven against Arsenal. The last meeting, of course, was in the Premier League two weeks ago, when City twice led and twice coughed up that lead against a flaky Gunners side.

John Stones is the main injury concern ahead of the semifinal while Gabriel Jesus was able to take part in some of Friday's training session though, and will be travelling with the squad to London. Raheem Sterling, David Silva, Leroy Sane and Kevin de Bruyne should play behind Sergio Aguero in Pep Guardiola's 4-1-4-1 starting formation. Fernandinho or Yaya Toure may start at the base of midfield. Claudio Bravo appears to have regained his spot in goal and could remain between the sticks here. Ilkay Gundogan remains sidelined.
