Arsenal have won five of their last seven matches

Arsenal bounced back from their North London derby loss to Spurs last weekend with a 2-1 victory at home to champions Liverpool on Wednesday night. They look to be heading in the right direction since a switch to a back three, going W5-D1-L1 from late June onwards. The Gunners have now a mammoth task considering that they have lost their last seven meetings with Manchester City in all competitions, by an aggregate score of 2-20.

Eddie Nketiah is available having served a 3-match ban. Goalkeeper Bernd Leno is injured alongside defenders Calum Chambers, Pablo Mari and Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli. Kieran Tierney should continue as centre-back alongside David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi with Hector Bellerin and Bukayo Saka starting as wing backs. The likes of Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos are expected to play from the off in the middle of the park. The front trio will be formed by Nicolas Pepè, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. Mesut Ozil could be involved after a back issue.

They managed to win 2-1 despite resting many regular starters. As to direct encounters, Pep Guardiola's men have won their last seven matches against Arsenal, including a pair of 3-0 wins in the Premier League this season.

Star man Kevin de Bruyne and Aymeric Laporte were both left out on Wednesday so they’ll surely start this game. Raheem Sterling came off the bench against the Cherries and will lead the line. Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva should get the nod over Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez for the two remaining attacking spots. Claudio Bravo, who would have started, has been confirmed out of this match. As a result, Ederson will continue in goal. Joao Cancelo will face a late fitness test for slight muscular issue.
