ATLETICO MADRID v REAL MADRID BETTING PREVIEW
Atletico Madrid’s 2-0 loss against Real Sociedad before the international break pushed them back to 4th position with 21 points, six behind their city rivals. Los Colchoneros have lost two of their last three league games, falling to away defeat also against Sevilla. Anyway, they remain unbeaten in 22 league games in a row at their own turf.
Antoine Griezmann is a doubt as he picked up a foot injury on international duty with France while Argentine Midfielder Gaitan was declared unfit to play in the match due to gluteal strain. Kevin Gameiro look sure to start up front, with the in-form Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco out on the left flank. Andre Moreira and Augusto Fernandez are out through injury.
Real Madrid are currently on top of La Liga table with 27 points, 2 points above Barcelona and 6 points above Atletico Madrid. The Galacticos are undefeated in their last 23 league matches. They enter this match on the back of four consecutive wins but they have failed to beat Simeone’s men six times in a row in La Liga.
Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric are available again while Toni Kroos and Alvaro Morata are long-term absentees. Brazilian midfielder Casemiro also miss out due to lack of fitness. Karim Benzema and Pepe also trained away from the group over the last few days, but the former might be forced into a start due to a lack of options. Mateo Kovacic and Isco will start in midfield while James Rodriguez could start in the attacking trio alongside Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronlado should Benzema miss out.
