BURNLEY vs MAN UTD BETTING PREVIEW
Burnley are now without a win in seven matches in all competitions but they come close to upsetting the Red Devils at Old Trafford last month (2-2). Despite picking up just 3 points from a possible 18, the Clarets comfortably sit in the top half of the table and boast the third-best defensive record in the Premier League. 9 of Burnley's 11 Premier League games at Turf Moor so far this season have seen fewer than three goals scored. In terms of direct matches, they have won one of their last 24 matches against Manchester United in all competitions (D10 L13).
Sean Dyche revealed Stephen Ward and Chris Wood remain out for this clash while Jonathan Walters has joined Robbie Brady as a long-term absentee. Scott Arfield should be back in contention following a hamstring injury and his return would probably see Ashley Barnes shift from the left flank to lead the attack, with Sam Vokes dropping to the bench. In defense, one possible change could see Matt Lowton replace Phil Bardsley as right back. On-loan Tottenham forward Georges-Kevin N'Koudou could be in line for his first start after making his debut as a substitute last time out.
Manchester UTD closed the gap at the top of the table to 12 points with a routine 3-0 win against Stoke City on Monday night. That was their third consecutive victory and the 7th unbeaten match in the top flight. Prior to that, they recorded a 2-0 victory at Everton on New Year's Day. The Red Devils now sit three points clear of third-placed Liverpool entering this weekend's round of fixtures. They are unbeaten in their last five away Premier League games (W4 D1), scoring at least twice every time. Mourinho's side recorded a 2-0 win at Turf Moor last season courtesy of goals from Martial and Wayne Rooney.
Ashley Young is back from suspension but Luke Shaw has performed well in his absence and could retain his starting berth. Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are likely to form the centre-back partnership once more, with Marcos Rojo and Victor Lindelof the alternatives. Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been left out of the squad as he could move to Arsenal. Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial appear likely starter behind the lone striker Romelu Lukaku. Daley Blind is ruled out with a little injury sustained in training while other current absentees are captain Michael Carrick, defender Eric Bailly and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
