CZECH REPUBLIC v CROATIA BETTING PREVIEW
Czech Republic were three minutes away from a memorable draw against Spain, eventually losing 1-0 courtes of a Gerard Pique's late goal. They were able to hold the Spaniard’s offensive pressure and possession dominance until the ending part of the game. They looked well balanced in defense but they were quite poor in offense. This was also due to SPain's midfield technichal abilities, but Croatia have an even stronger midfield.
The Czech Republic have a clean bill of health but are expected to make a couple of changes to their team. Boreck Dockal is still doubtful for this clash but could play at some stage. Tomas Necid is likely to come into the starting XI after David Lafata drew a blank last time out. Tomas Rosicki will retain his starting berth in the number ten role with Darida and Plasil in central midfield positions. Kadlec and Hubnik are in contention for a start in central defense.
Croatia meanwhile utterly dominated Turkey in their opening match, recording a 1-0 win which puts them in an excellent position to make the knockout stage. They have been installed as dark horses by plenty of pundits because they have technical ability and firepower to upset the favourites of this tournament.
Ante Cacic is therefore expected to keep the faith with the same startingline-up he fielded last time out. Darijo Srna is expected to start on Friday despite the death of his father. Ivan Rakitic and Inter Milan's duo Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic will play behind the lone striker Mario Mandzukic while Luka Modric and Milan Badelj will play in the middle of the park. Verdun Corluka suffered a nasty head injury against Turkey but is expected to be passed fit.
