CZECH REPUBLIC U21 v ITALY U21 BETTING PREVIEW 

Czech Republic slumped to a rather disappointing defeat against Germany (0-2) in their opening match. The margin of defeat could have been even more significant if Lukas Zima had not saved a Davie Selke's penalty, while Germany wasted other good chances. It was a third defeat in six games having gone unbeaten in the previous 11. The Czech Republic’s defence is a worry as of the eight teams in the finals, they conceded more goals than anyone else in qualification. Due to the tournament format, they desperately need to beat Italy in order to keep their qualification hopes alive.

Manager Vitezslav Lavicka should not make wholesale changes to his starting XI. High rated midfielder Jakub Jankto will support Patrik Schick up front, with both players well know to the Italians as they play for Udinese and Sampdoria respectively. Ajax teenager Vaclav Cerny is another player to watch on the wing. Anyway, the Czechs are very short of options at the back. As consequence, the likes of Sacek, Havel, Lueftner and Simic are likely to get the nod.
  


Italy recorded a 2-0 win over Denmark in their first group stage match, showcasing a fantastic defence. The "Azzurrini" picked up 7 clean sheets in their 10 qualification games, conceding only 3 goals. Anyway, their offense is not as productive as it could be - they have only scored more than two goals just once in their last ten, and even that came against minnows Andorra in qualifying. Only one team from each group is guaranteed a place in the final four of the competition and, with a clash against Group C favourites Germany still to come, Luigi Di Biagio’s boys know that there is no room for error when they face the Czechs.

Manager Gigi Di Biagio should keep faith in his starting XI. The defense will be surely unchaged, meaning that Andrea Conti, Antonio Barreca, Daniele Rugani and Mattia Caldara will retain their berth. In midfield, Andrea Gagliardini should be flanked by Lorenzo Pellegrini and Marco Benassi, with Manuel Locatelli and Danilo Cataldi viable alternatives. Up front, Federico Chiesa are pushing for a start after his impressive impact against Denmark, but Domenico Berardi, Federico Bernardeschi and Andrea Petagna are expected to feature from the off.
