Derby County v Leeds betting preview  

Derby County will need to improve ten-fold to avoid defeat here

Frank Lampard’s first competitive match in charge of Derby County saw them beating 2–1 Reading courtesy of goals scored by Mason Mount (as we predicted) and a last-minute Tom Lawrence superb header. Anyway, the last-gasp victory only masked a poor performance from the Rams. They were strong at home last season with a W12 D5 L6 record posted. Furthermore, Derby have won nine of their last 12 home matches against Leeds in all competitions. Last season the sides managed to draw 2-2 at Pride Park and Derby won 1-2 at Elland Road.

Florian Jozefzoon may be handed his debut on the right wing, with Harry Wilson and Tom Lawrence in the offensive midfield trio, while new signing Scott Malone might replace Max Lowe at left-back. Curtis Davies, Richard Keogh and Andre Wisdom are likely to complete the four man backline. Jack Marriott didn't feature against the Royals, but is likely to replace David Nugent up top.

Leeds UTD exceeded expectations on their opening match

Marco Bielsa made an even more impressive start as Leeds United boss with a 3-1 win against Championship favourites Stoke City 3-1 at Elland Road. Mateusz Klich, Pablo Hernandez and Liam Cooper all scored in an impressive display. The Peacocks lost each of their final four away games of last season and they failed to win any of their last 11 matches away from Elland Road.

The visitors are without Adam Forshaw due to a foot injury. Pontus Jansson wasn't fit to start against the Potters last time out but he is expected to replace Gaetano Berardi as centre-back here. Kemar Roofe’s opening day display meaning summer signing Patrick Bamford may remain on the bench. The likes of Mateusz Klich, Samuel Saiz, Pablo Hernandez and Ezgjan Alioski should start behind the lone striker with Kalvin Phillips anchoring the midfield.
