ENGLAND vs GERMANY BETTING PREVIEW
England come into this game on the back of four consecutive victories. The Three Lions confirmed qualification for the World Cup in the last two qualifying matches with narrow victories over Slovenia and Lithuania seeing them top the group and finish their campaign unbeaten. This will be England's fourth friendly under the current boss; his previous three resulted in a 2-2 draw with Spain, and 1-0 and 3-2 defeats to Germany and France respectively. The Three Lions will face a more experienced team as Southgate's 22-man squad has an average of just 14 caps compared to Germany's 27.
A few of the squad's more prominent players are missing out, including Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph, Harry Winks and Adam Lallana. As a result, Gareth Southgate looks to experiment and take a look at some fringe players, promoting the likes of Tammy Abraham and Ruben Loftus-Cheek from the Under 21 team. In defense, Gary Cahill is a major doubt and could be rested, leaving Harry Maguire, John Stones and Phil Jones forming the three man backline. Marcus Rashford and Jamie Vardy will be paired up front while Danny Rose and Kyle Walker are expected to start as wing-backs.
Germany arrive at Wembley on the back of an impressive World Cup qualifying campaign in which they won all 10 of their fixtures, scoring 43 goals in the process. They are unbeaten since their Semi-Final defeat to France in last summer's Euros, a run spanning 19 matches in which they have conceded just ten goals. This streak also includes a narrow 1-0 triumph over England in Dortmund back in March. Joachim Löw's side have won three of the last four meetings with England since 2010 and have won on their last four visits to the home of football since 2000.
Joachim Low utilised a 3-1-5-1 formation against Azerbaijan to give his team plenty of firepower but may revert to a more orthodox 4-2-3-1 system here. He is missing some important players for this game including Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller and Andre Schurrle while Marcel Halstenberg is expected to make his debut here. Mario Gotze and Ilkay Gundogan have been recalled to the German squad after missing most of the calendar year through injury and they are both expected to feature from the off. Sandro Wagner is likely to lead the line, while Julian Draxler and Leroy Sanè should start out wide.
