The absence of Andre Gomes through injury is a blow but Rui Jorge has named eight full internationals in his squad with Monaco’s Bernardo Silva and William Carvalho both involved with the senior team in last week’s Euro 2016 qualifier in Armenia. Porto youngster Gonçalo Paciencia should lead the line having overcome an injury. Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori will start at centre back for Portugal alongside Paulo Oliveira.

Danny Ings scored a brace on his home ground when these two sides met in November when ENGLAND U21 defeated Purtugal with an impressive 3-1. Prior to that match, Portugal securing a narrow 1-0 earliear in 2014.
