EVERTON v LEICESTER BETTING PREVIEW

Everton currently sit 7th in the Premier League standings. They came very close to beating Manchester United at Old Trafford in midweek but a late equalizer saw them have to settle for a 1-1 draw. The Toffees have won their last 6 home matches - outscoring their opponents 22-3 in that process - and have lost only one of their 15 home games on their own turf this season. Furthermore, they have kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 6 matches at Goodison Park.

Ronald Koeman will be without the suspended Ashley Williams,so Matthew Pennington looks set to earn a recall in defence. Mason Holgate, Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines should form the rest of the back four. Kevin Mirallas, Ademola Lookman and Ross Barkley are likely to form the offensive midfield trio behind the Lone striker Romelu Lukaku, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Enner Valencia providing further options. James McCarthy and Aaron Lennon remain doubtful, while Seamus Coleman, Ramiro Funes Mori, Muhamed Besic and Yannick Bolasie are sidelined.

Leicester have won five in a row in the league under new manager Craig Shakespeare, scoring at least 2 goals in each of those games. This run put eight points between them and the bottom three. The Foxes beat Sunderland 2-0 in a midweek home fixture, a result that propelled them into mid table. In terms of direct matches, Everton won 2-0 in the reverse leg at King Power Stadium on December 2016. But Leicester had their revenge in the space of 10 days with a 2-1 win at the Goodison Park in the FA Cup.

Craig Shakespeare will not have Wes Morgan back this weekend and the Leicester captain will be replaced by Yohan Benalouane. Marc Albrighton will likely be handed a recall with Demarai Gray set to drop to the bench. Riyad Mahrez, Danny Drinkwater and Wilfred Ndidi will likely retain their places elsewhere in midfield. Up front, Shinji Okazaki is likely to support Jamie Vardy, with Islam Slimani the main offensive alternative. The likes of Molla Wague and Nampalys Mendy remain out through injury.
