FRANCE v SPAIN BETTING PREVIEW
France did not have any troubles against Luxembourg at the weekend as they recorded a comfortable 1-3 victory thanks to a brace from Olivier Giroud. This makes it 18 games unbeaten for France in normal time, with their 1-0 extra time defeat to Portugal being their only negative result in the Euro 2016 Final. Les Blues now lead their qualifying group with a 3 points cushion over Sweden and 6 over Netherlands at the halfway point of the qualifying campaign. They have lost just one home game since March 2015 and they have drawn two and won five of their seven matches after last year's European Championship.Coach Didier Deschamps handed Kylian Mbappe his first cap last time out and he is expected to play some part here. Oliveir Giroud is expected to retain his berth upfront with Antoine Griezmann, Dimitri Payet and Florian Thavin as offensive midfielders. Dortmund's youngster Ousmane Dembele provides a valid alternative. In midfield, N'Golo Kantè and Adrien Rabiot are favourite to feature from the off, while Christophe Jallet, Samuel Umtiti, Laurent Koscielny and Layvin Kurzawa are likely to form the four man backline. Djibril Sidibe sustained a chest injury last time out and Adil Rami was forced to withdraw due to injury. Didier Deschamps calling Athletic Bilbao starlet Aymeric Laporte as replacement.
Spain scored 4 goals in the drubbing of Israel at Estadio Municipal El Molinon last weeekend. That victory puts them top of their group, but they are only ahead of 2nd placed Italy on goal difference at the moment. "La Furia Roja" is unbeaten under Julen Lopetegui, who replaced Vicente del Bosque last summer. Spain beat Belgium in Lopetegui's first match in charge and have since won four and drawn two of their games. The two draws came away to Italy and England. They have scored 23 goals in their last seven international fixtures.
Pedro and Alvaro Morata may come in for David Silva and Diego Costa in attack, while Isco and Koke are among those hoping to start. The three man frontline will be probably completed by Sevilla's talent Vitolo. Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique make up a formidable centre back partnership, whilst Andres Iniesta, Thiago Alcantara, and Sergio Busquets are the midfield three with Isco and Koke as further options. Asier Illarramendi is alos expected to be handed his debut at some stage.
