GERMANY v CHILE BETTING PREVIEW
Germany secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Australia in their opening clash, as Lars Stindl, Julian Draxler and Leon Goretzka were all on target. They gave away two awful goals (keeper Bernd Leno should've done far better in both instances), and at the other end of the pitch they lacked their usual ruthlessness. The Germans are now unbeaten in 11 matches (9 wins and 2 draws) while you have to go back to the 2010 FIFA World Cup for the last time they tasted defeat in the group stages of a major tournament. The last time these two teams met cam in a friendly on 2014, when a first half strike from Mario Gotze giving the Mannschaft a 1-0 win. There have been no fresh injury worries for Joachim Low, who is expected to field a similar side to the one that beat Australia few days ago. The likes of Joshua Kimmich, Antonio Rudiger and Shkodran Mustafi will retain their starting berth, with Sebastian Rudy as midfield shield, Julian Draxler and Jonas Hector on the wings. Up front, Timo Werner and Lars Stind will lead the line, while Leon Goretzka and Julian Brandt in central midfield position.
Chile got the better of Cameroon by a 2-0 margin, waiting until the final ten minutes for an opener in a match they squandered a handful of scoring chances. The South American champions have won three of their last five matches – losing just once during that span. Chile managed to establish themselves as one of the world’s leading sides in recent years and could take advantage of Germany unexperience. In contrast to "Die Mannschaft", Chile coach Juan Antonio Pizzi has 11 players boasting more than 50 international caps.
Alexis Sanchez wasn’t fit enough to start against Cameroon, and he’s seemingly facing a tight race to feature here. The Arsenal talisman will be eventually partnered by Edu Vargas and Josè Fuenzalida up front, despite Edson Puch in pushing for a start. Bundesliga-based midfielders Arturo Vidal and Charles Aranguiz will provide power and grit in midfield. Veteran Universidad de Chile goalkeeper Johnny Herrera stood in for Claudio Bravo last time out and should retain his berth.
