GERMANY v ITALY BETTING PREVIEW
Germany let a two-goal lead slip to lose 3-2 against England (as we predicted). It was their third defeat in their last four matches in all competitions. Their only win meantime was against a weak Georgia, while they also lost to Ireland and France. Their defense is their biggest concern at the moment - too shaky to be considered a strong contender for the upcoming Euro 2016 tournament.Joachim Low is likely to make a lot of changes from the XI that started against the Three Lions. Manuel Neuer is out and will be replaced by Ter Stegen. In midfield it seems that Toni Kroos and Sami Khedira will start again while Sebastian Rudy and Matthias Ginter may also have their chance to prove their ability in defense. Karim Bellarabi and Julian Draxler are expected to start in the offensive midfield trio behind the lone striker Mario Gotze.
Italy recorded a creditable 1-1 draw with European champions Spain in their last match as they were the dominant side. Prior to that match, a loss to Group rivals Belgium and a 2-2 draw to Bulgaria have shown the unpredictable nature of Antonio Conte’s men. Anyway, the Azzurri topped their Euro 2016 qualification group by four points away from second placed Croatia with an unbeaten W7-D3 record.
Antonio Conte is likely to make a few changes to the side although he is expected to persist with the 3-4-3 formation. The likes of Jorginho, Lorenzo Insigne, Simone Zaza and Federico Bernardeschi are expected to come into the starting XI. Juventus' defenders Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini are sidelined, as well as Torino's forward Ciro Immobile.
Italy are unbeaten in their last seven games against Germany. Three of their last four meetings have ended in draw and those games have witnessed under 2.5 goals.The sides shared a 1-1 draw when they last came face-to-face back in 2013.
