LAZIO v NAPOLI BETTING PREVIEW
Lazio eliminated their rivals Roma from the Coppa Italia despite their 3-2 defeat last tuesday. They are in very good form, unbeaten in Serie A since January and enter this match on the back of a 2-1 win at Sassuolo last weekend. The Biancocelesti are W10-D2-L3 at home this term, but two of those defeats were against Juventus and Roma. Simone Inzaghi's men have not won at home to Napoli in their last five attempts.
The hosts have concerns over defender Stefan de Vrij, while goalkeeper Federico Marchetti remains out. Influential midfielder Lucas Biglia also is a doubt. Despite that, Simone Inzaghi is expected to stick with his usual 4-3-3 formation. Ciro Immobile will be the central forward while Felipe Anderson and Senad Lulic are likely to start out wide. Stefan Radu will partner Stefan Hoedt at the heart of defense.
Napoli warmed up for this clash with a 3-2 victory over Juventus in Coppa Italia, a result that was not enough to progress to the final. Prior to that, they drew 1-1 at home against Juve again in Serie A. As a result, the Partenopei are still four points behind Roma in the table with eight rounds of matches remaining and they have Lazio the same differential behind them in fourth position. They have the best away record in Serie A this season with 30 points collected and 35 goals scored. Maurizio Sarri's men have won seven of the last eight unbeaten games on the road, including against Roma and AC Milan.
Maurizio Sarri is likely to use the best XI available. Hence, Dries Mertens will back to the starting lineups, replacing Arkadiusz Milik - who started in Coppa Italia - up front. Raul Albiol will flank Kalidou Koulibaly as centre back with Faouzi Ghoulam and Elseid Hysaj as full backs. Amadou Diawara should get the nod over Jorginho as playmaker in midfield, forming a very technical trio with Marek Hamsik and Piotr Zielinski. Defender Lorenzo Tonelli is Napoli's only absentee once again.
