LIVERPOOL v DORTMUND BETTING PREVIEW
Liverpool earned a very credible 1-1 draw at Signal Iduna Park last week and warmed up for this much-anticipated showdown with an impressive 4-1 victory over Stoke City in Premier League on Sunday. They are high on confidence now having suffered just one defeat in their last 10 matches in all competitions.
Emre Can will return to the midfield as Jordan Henderson is definitely out, and could miss the remainder of the season. Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino look sure for a berth as offensive midfielders while Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi are in contention to lead the line up front. Mamadou Sakho and Dejan Lovren were both impressive in the first leg and should return again for this match having been rested at the weekend. Danny Ings, Christian Benteke and Joe Gomez are still injured.
Borussia Dortmund drew 2-2 in their Bundesliga clash against Schalke 04, with Thomas Tuchel surprisingly making eight changes for that match and watching the deficit grew to seven points from league leaders Bayern. They remain undefeated in 2016 and swept aside Tottenham 5-1 on aggregate in the previous round of the Europa League.
The world-class attacking trio of Marco Reus, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and they are all expected to start at Anfield Road. Ilkay Gundogan came off the bench at the weekend to make his first appearance since the start of March and he also is likely to start. Cup goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller will replace Roman Burki between the sticks while Neven Subotic is the only sidelined player.
