LIVERPOOL v LEEDS BETTING PREVIEW
Liverpool are in a brilliant run as they have not lost in their last 14 games in all competitions, scoring 36 goals in the process. The Reds, who enter this match on the back of a 2-0 success over Sunderland at the weekend, knocked out Championship sides Burton Albion and Derby County in the EFL Cup before a Daniel Sturridge brace lifted them past top-flight rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the previous round.
Philippe Coutinho was injured in the last game against Sunderland and will miss for the next 5-6 weeks, whilst Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana are also out for another week. Daniel Sturridge is a slight doubt as well and manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to make wholesale changes to his starting XI. Players such as Simon Mignolet, Alberto Moreno, Ragnar Klavan, and Lucas probably will be given a chance.
Leeds have recovered amazingly from a disappointing start in Championship play this season. The team managed by ex-Swansea boss Garry Monk are currently 5th in the league and highly hopeful to win promotion to Premier League at the end of the season. They kicked off the competition with a penalty shoot out win after a 2-2 draw (1-1 after 90 mins) away at Fleetwood Town and followed that result with a win 1-0 at Luton in the second round and at home to Blackburn in the third one. In the previous round, Leeds edged past Norwich City in a penalty shoot out after coming from behind twice to level the scores at 2-2 at the end of extra time.
Pablo Hernandez is still out with a hamstring problem, Bailey Peacock-Farrell is set to miss the match due to a hand injury whilst Pontus Jansson returns from a suspension. Liam Bridcutt seems to be recovering very well from his foot injury, but he is unlikely to be risked in this match.
