Liverpool vs Manchester City Betting Preview

Liverpool had won six games in a row against City at Anfield before last season’s draw

Liverpool are six points clear of Manchester City having dropped only two points in 11 fixtures so far, a 1-1 draw at Manchester UTD on 20th October. The Reds defeated 2-1 Aston Villa last weekend courtesy of Sadio Mane's stoppage-time decider and followed up with a 2-1 home win over Genk in Champions League on Tuesday night. Defense remains a concern for Jurgen Klopp - his defense has not kept a clean sheet in their last eight matches – or in eight home games this term. Jordan Henderson has recovered from illness and will start the match while Virgil van Dijk is, according to klopp, 100% fit. Georginio Wijnaldum and Fabinho are expected to flank the captain in midfield while Dejan Lovren is likely to partner the Dutchman in cnetral defense. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will retain their starting berth as full backs. The absence of Ederson is a major blow for Pep Guardiola. Claudio Bravo will deputise in goal for the visitors but the Brazilian goalkeeper is not the only big-name absentee for City, with playmaker David Silva expected to miss the match and Rodri also still sidelined. As a result, Bernardo Silva will be brought back into midfield alogside Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne, with Fernandinho viable alternative. Guardiola is likely to opt for Sergio Aguero leading the line, with the Argenine flanked by Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling. Oleksandr Zinchenko, Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane, are the long-term absences.
