MANCHESTER UTD v REAL MADRID BETTING PREVIEW
Real Madrid are only just beginning their 2017-18 preparations and so may be considerably behind their opponents fitness-wise. They have been relatively quiet on the transfer market, having signed only Dani Ceballos and Theo Hernandez. Anyway, few important players have left the club. James Rodriguez is the highest profile exit after joining Bayern Munich on a two-year loan. Alvaro Morata joined Chelsea and Danilo signed for Manchester City. Veteran centre-back Pepe was released and has joined Besiktas, while Fabio Coentrao has returned home to Portugal on loan.The front-trio will be probably formed by Karim Benzema, Isco and Gareth Bale as Zinedine Zidane is without Cristiano Ronaldo as the Portuguese star was given an extended holiday as a result of international commitments with Portugal at the Confederations Cup until earlier this month. Dani Ceballos is also out as he played the Under 21 Euro Championship. The French manager could hand some youngster such Alvaro Tejero, Achraf Hakimi, Franchu, Oscar and his son Luca Zidane few minutes of play.
Manchester UTD enter this match on the back of a 2-0 victory over their local rivals Manchester City on Thursday night. They already recorded victories against local MLS clubs LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake since arriving in the United States earlier this month. The last game between these two European giants was in 2014 in the International Champions Cup as well and the Red Devils won (3-1), a match played in front of a record crowd for a soccer match in the US of over 109,000.
Juan Mata picked up a knock in the Real Salt Lake clash and could miss out while Matteo Darmian also suffered a minor problem but isn't considered a doubt. Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford are likely to renew their partnership up front, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Jesse Lingard providing support from the flanks. Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba will start in the middle of the park while new signing Viktor Lindelof is likely to feature from the off in defence. Luke Shaw, Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo are all out through injury.
