Despite losing to France 2-1 in their UEFA Nations League opening game, the Dutch topped a group containing alsobitter rivals Germany to reach the finals. A major achievement in itself, especially when considering they didn’t even make it to the last World Cup or even Euro 2016. In the Euro 2020 qualifiers, the Oranje have recorded one win - against Belarus - and one defeat against Germany (2-3 at home) from two matches so far. Their defeat in the hands of Germany in their last game ended their five-match unbeaten run.
Virgil van Dijk and Georginio Wijnaldum are major doubts having played the Champions League final last weekend. Donny van de Beek should start if Wijnaldum is not deemed fit enough. Frenkie De Jong and Marten De Roon will complete the three man midfield while Denzel Dumfries and Daley Blind will start as full backs. Memphis Depay is expected to play in a central role in attack, while Steven Bergwijn, Quincy Promes and Ryan Babel are in competition for two places as wingers.
Gareth Southgate will now likely has to make do without seven players involved in Saturday's Champions League final. Captain Harry Kane looked completely off the pace and should be replaced by Marcus Rashford upfront. The Man UTD striker will be likely flanked by Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho. In defense, John Stones is in line to return alongside Harry Maguire as centre back with Kyle Walker and Ben Chilwell startind as right and left back respectively.
