PHIL TAYLOR v ADRIAN LEWIS: Betting preview
Phil Taylor totally outplayed the World Champion and World No 1 Michael Van Gerwen in his quarter final, to win 16-6 at the Winter Gardens, averaging over 101, an impressive 57% checkout success and hitting 10 maximums. That win was Taylor's 97th in 105 matches at the World Matchplay. Another fantastic display from 'the Power' as he beat Raymond Van Barneveld 11-3 with a 102.27 average and 50% on doubles in the previous round.
Adrian Lewis continued his challenge to win his maiden World Matchplay title by recording a hard-fought 16-13 victory over Alan Norris. It wil lbe the second successive World Matchplay semifinal for "Jackpot". Hewas serenly heading into the last four when leading Alan Norris 13-5 but his form suddenly dipped as his back problems appeared to come to the fore and just about got over the line 16-13. After a such exhausting match, there are question marks hanging over his fitness having undergone surgery on a back problem earlier this month.
This will be the 73rd direct encounters between Taylor and Lewis, with 'The Power' leading the way convincingly 53-17, although 'Jackpot' has won six out of their last 10 meetings. The pair are 1-1 in 2017 having traded victories in the Premier League round robin.
