POLAND v IRELAND BETTING PREVIEW
Poland and Ireland head into this clash level on points and with the reverse meeting already having ended in a 1-1 draw, things are very tight in this group. The hosts need to avoid defeat to secure a place at the Euro 2016 Finals in France because they have a better goal difference. Anyway, any draw of 2-2 or higher would take Ireland through. Robert Lewandowski got Poland out of trouble with two goals away at Scotland in midweek to earn his team a point in a 2-2 draw and knock Scotland out of Euro 2016 in the process.
Milik is an injury doubt after suffering a hip problem on Thursday night but if the Ajax man can recover in time for Sunday, Nawalka may name an unchanged starting lineup.
Ireland pulled off the biggest upset that kept their hopes alive by defeating Germany last Thursday. They are unbeaten in five matches, earned 11 points in the process and managed to win their last three group games without conceding a single goal in the process. Furthermore, they have the best defensive record in the group with only five goals conceded in nine qualifiers.
Shay Given is sidelined with a knee injury and Darron Randolph is set to replace the experienced goalkeeper. Glenn Whelan and James McClean are back from suspension while Seamus Coleman and Marc Wilson return from injury.
The teams shared a 1-1 draw when they met in Dublin in March’s reverse fixture. Five of the last seven direct matches have ended in draws, but Ireland are unbeaten in their last three, which includes a 2-0 success in a friendly in 2013.
