PORTUGAL v CHILE BETTING PREVIEW
Portugal kicked off the tournament with a 2-2 draw against Mexico and then recorded a narrow 1-0 defeat over Russia 1-0 on matchday 2 before dismantling New Zealand 4-0 in the third and final group stage match. As a result, the Seleçao topped their group on seven points ahead of Mexico thanks to the better goal differential. The Portuguese now are unbeaten in five matches. They have won four matches during that run – keeping a clean sheet on each occasion.Cristiano Ronaldo has been rested last time out but the Real Madrid talisman will start this clash and will be flanked by Andre Silva up front. In midfield, there are two more "Silva", Bernardo Silva and Adrien Silva. The likes of William Carvalho and Ricardo Quaresma complete the midfield quartet. In defense, Raphael Guerreiro will miss the remainder of the tournament because of a suspected broken ankle. As a result, Cedric Soares and Eliseu will retain their berths as full backs.
Chile only recorded a 1-1 draw against Australia in their last group match, but it was enough to send them through. Prior to that, La Roja recorded a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Cameroon and failed to capitalise on their early lead and had to eventually settle for a 1-1 draw against Germany on matchday 2. The Chileans have only lost just one of their last eight. This is only the second-ever meeting between the nations, with the first producing a 1-1 draw in March 2011.
Claudio Bravo has been out of action since late April, but started against Australia and should play between the posts. Gary Medel is expected to play in midfield, alongside Charles Aranguiz and Arturo Vidal. Hence, Gonzalo Jara and Marcelo Diaz are likely to start as centre backs. The likes of Mauricio Isla and Jean Beausejour will play as full backs. Up front, Alexis Sanchez will be probably supported by Joseè Fuenzalida and Edu Vargas.
