Portugal v Switzerland betting preview  

Portugal aren’t in the greatest spell of form having drawn the last four games

Portugal topped their Nations League group which included Italy and Poland, recording two wins and two draws from four games. As a result, they are unbeaten since their exit from the 2018 World Cup at the hands of Uruguay. Fernando Santos' men are without a loss at home in an official game since the defeat against Albania for the European qualifications in September 2014. But they have also drawn nine of their latest 15 matches including the last four, and have found scoring goals something of a problem. As to direct encounters, these two nations met in qualification for the 2018 World Cup, with Portugal securing a 2-0 win at home and losing by the same scoreline in Switzerland.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be with the captain armband in the finals of Nations League. The Juventus striker will lead the line, as side's top scorer in the competition, Andre Silva, is out through injury. The likes of Bernardo Silva, Goncalo Guedes and Bruno Fernandes will start as offensive midfielders while the youngster Joao Felix could make his senior debut at some stage. Danilo Pereira and William Carvalho should anchor the midfield, with Ruben Neves and Pizzi viable alternatives. Joao Mario and Andre Gomes are not included.

Switzerland got off to a flying start in their first game of the Nations League

Switzerland progressed to the semi-finals of the Nations League with three victories out of their four group matches, including a 5-2 trashing of Belgium at home and victories over Iceland both at home (6-0) and away (1-2). In their last outing, Wladimir Petkovic's men let slip a three-goal lead against Denmark. Prior to that, they comfortably beat Georgia 2-0 away from home in an international friendly. Switzerland  have seen fewer than three goals in six of their last eight games away from home

The Nati have a fully-fit squad with the only player absent through injury being Schalke forward Breel Embolo. His absence opens the door for Remo Freuler or Edimilson Fernandes in the midfield trio, alongside Granit Xhaka and Denis Zakaria. The likes of Ricardo Rodriguez and Kevin Mbabu will play as wing backs in a 3-5-1-1 starting system, in which Xherdan Shaqiri will start as number ten. Haris Seferovic is likely to get the nod over Albian Ajeti in attack. Nico Elvedi and Manuel Akanji should be rewarded with a starting berth alongside Fabian Schar in defence.
