PSG cannot afford to let more points in the competition slip after a disappointing 1-1 opening draw to Club Brugge, and pressure will mount on Mauricio Pochettino if they fail to get anything from Tuesday’s match at the Parc des Princes. They have a 100 per cent record in Ligue 1, winning all eight of their games and scoring 22 goals in the process, but most of these wins have been far from convincing.

Despite failing to sign a Sergio Aguero's replacement, Manchester City have impressed so far this season and are second in the Premier League following their dominant 1-0 win at Chelsea on Saturday. They kick-started their Champions League campaign with an entertaining 6-3 win over RB Leipzig at Etihad Stadium a fortnight ago.

The last time the sides met at the Parc des Princes, in last year's Champions League semifinals, it ended 2-1 to Manchester City. The Cityzens also won the return leg at Etihad 2-0.

Probable Line-Ups

Paris Saint-Germain (4-3-3): Navas; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Diallo; Gueye, Paredes, Herrera; Draxler, Mbappe, Neymar

Lionel Messi has trained ahead of the game and is expected to make the PSG squad. He's 50-50 to start. Should the former Barcelona star go on the bench, Julian Draxler will start in the front trio alongside Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. Anorther alternative is Mauro Icardi, while Angel Di Maria is suspended. Marco Verratti - who hasn't played since September 5 - is also likely to be in the squad but Idrissa Gueye, Hector Herrera and Leandro Paredes are expected to start in the middle of the park. At the back, with Sergio Ramos still out through injury, Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe will be the starting centre backs, with Achraf Hakimi and Aboud Diallo as full backs. Between the posts, Keylor Navas could keep Gianluigi Donnarumma out of the team for now.

Manchester City (4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Dias, Stones, Cancelo; B. Silva, Fernandinho, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Torres, Grealish

Ilkay Gundogan is definitely out, while John Stones is working his way back towards full fitness. Phil Foden started against Chelsea at the weekend, and should make room to Ferran Torres who was rested at Stamford Bridge. The likes of Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez are likely to complete the "tridente", with Raheem Sterling a viable back-up option. In midfield, Fernandinho may be considered for a start given Rodri's recent fitness woes, while Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker will start as full backs.
