England vs Austria Betting Preview
England are shaping up nicely, having won their last four matches in a row and will be hoping to carry forward that momentum into the European championships. The Three Lions saw off San Marino, Albania and Poland by an aggregate score of 9-1 in their three World Cup qualifiers in March. Furthermore, they have won their last six friendly matches, scoring 14 goals and conceding just once.Having won five games in a row towards the end of the last year, Austria has picked up just one victory in their last four, getting hammered 4-0 by Denmark in their most recent fixture in March. Anyway, Das Team did hold England's Group D opponents Scotland to a 2-2 draw in their opening World Cup qualifier. Franco Foda's men have won eight of their last 10 friendly matches (L2), scoring at least twice in seven of those eight wins.
Best Odds
Despite their odds are drifting, England remain favorites in this contest, with 888sport offering 11/20 for the home win. The draw is available at 67/20 with Novibet while Austria are backable at 13/2 with William Hill to upset the Three Lions.
Probable Line-Ups
England (4-3-3): Pickford; Trippier, Coady, Mings; Alexander-Arnold, Bellingham, Rice, Henderson; Lingard, Kane, SakaGareth Southgate is expected to rest the players who took part in Saturday's Champions League final, with the likes of Mason Mount, Ben Chilwell, Phil Foden and Kyle Walker unlikely to feature,
Jesse Lingard missed the cut for the Euros squad, but is set to start this friendly. Harry Maguire is in the squad but is still recovering from an ankle ligament injury. As a result, Tyrone Mings is expected to partner Conor Coady at the heart of the defence. Up front, Lingard and Bukayo Saka should flank Harry Kane, with Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho providing viable alternatives. Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford are not 100% fit and could be rested as well while Kalvin Phillips is also a slight injury doubt and might not be risked.
Austria (4-2-3-1): Lindner; Lainer, Hinteregger, Dragovic, Ulmer; Schlager, Grillitsch; Baumgartner, Sabitzer, Alaba; Grbic
Austria will have to do without winger Valentino Lazaro after failing to secure permission for him to travel without the threat of quarantine. Former West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic - who now play in the Chinese Super League for Shanghai Port - will miss out as he is struggling with injury. here are also injury doubts surrounding Karim Onisiwo, who limped out of training at the weekend, and Stefan Ilsanker, who is suffering from illness. Captain Julian Baumgartlinger was back in training and will feature from the off. He will support the lone striker Adrian Grbic alongside Marcel Sabitzer and David Alaba, who has recently moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
England v Austria Betting Tips
England have enjoyed a flawless 2021 so far with three wins from their three World Cup qualifiers in March while Austria will be keen to bounce back ahead of their own Euro 2020 campaign. Although this match is a friendly and Southgate will no doubt experiment with his line-up, the hosts should still prove much too strong. England captain Harry Kane heads into the game with ongoing uncertainty about his Tottenham future. Anyway, we expect Kane to score anytime in a narrow win for England. At Bet and Skill we provide a wide range of daily betting tips and betting previews:
