How Our Premier League Predictions Work
We have compiled above a list of games for the upcoming days alongside a number at the end of the fixture. This is our way of offering you our best bets. All our tips on this page are for the match result market and we place a number by each game dependent on which result we predict.
There are four different outcomes we predict - 1, 2, 1X and X2.
These mean different things, with each outcome explained below.
1: A number 1 next to the fixture is our indication we predict the home team to win.
2: The number 2 is our prediction that the away team will win.
1X: A 1X means we’d advice taking a home win or draw double.
X2: As you’d expect, X2 means we’d back an Away win or draw double.

Manchester City go into the 2024/25 Premier League season as champions but they face a frightening challenge from their fellow title hopefuls - Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester UTD, Tottenham, Newcastle and Chelsea above all.

How many teams get relegated?
The bottom three teams are relegated to Championship. Their spots are taken by the top two teams from the Football League Championship and a 3rd team that qualifies after winning the play-offs involving the 3rd-6th placed teams of the Football League Championship.
If any clubs finish with the same number of points, their position in the Premier League table is determined by goal difference, then the number of goals scored. If the teams still cannot be separated, they will be awarded the same position in the table.
Last season, the likes of Burnley, Sheffield UTD and Luton Town were relegated.

2024/25 Premier League Title Contenders
Bookies are predicting Manchester City (6/4) to retain their Premier League title. The Cityzens will look to secure a record fifth consecutive title. Two years ago Pep Guardiola's men became only the second English team to complete the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble, while last season the Cityzens "only" won the league. The club has been surprisingly quiet so far in terms of transfers, with Savio the only summer signing (the former Girona winger will replace Julian Alvarez in the roster).
Arsenal (15/8) were top of the table for most of the time last season, but finished just two points shy of City at te end. The Gunners have retained all their stars this summer, bringing Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori in North London. They will have more experience and quality for sure, and will also target the Champions League having returned in the competition last season after a six year absence.
Liverpool (7/1) never threatened the top two teams last season but at least managed to finish in the Top 4 in Premier League. Jurgen Klopp left the club after 9 season at Anfield. The Reds will be managed by former Feyenoord boss Arne Slot. They haven't signed any player. Despite that, the Merseysiders are the favourites to join Arsenal and Man City in the Top 4.
Manchester UTD (14/1) will start the third year of the Ten Hag's era and improvements are expected in all departments. Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui are the notable signins for the Red Devils this summer.
After crashing the top four race ahead of schedule last year, Newcastle (35/1) can't be considered a favourite to grab a Top 4 berth this season. The Magpies will play European football again but haven't added depth to their squad, signing only Lewis Hall and Lloyd Kelly this summer.
Ange Postecoglu's Tottenham (28/1) are another candidate for a Top 4 berth, having finally found a good replacement for their skipper Harry Kane. The Spurs have purchased Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth. Lucas Bergaval and Archie Gray are the other summer signings - good additions but not enough to turn the team in a title contender.
After another disastrous season, Chelsea (25/1) are likely to be the most improved team under new manager Enzo Maresca this term. The Blues splashed out over £750 million on more than 20 new players across four transfer windows since Todd Boehly completed the purchase of the club in late 2022. This summer the club has been very quiet, brining in only Pedro Neto from Wolves. We believe the Blues will need a couple of years before joining the title race again.
Who has won the most Premier League titles?
Since the Premier League’s opening edition in 1992, Manchester United have won the most titles with 13 victories. They are followed by Man City on 8 wins and Chelsea on 5 wins.
In terms of the entire history of the English top-flight, Manchester United have also won most often, with 20 league titles to their name. Liverpool are a close second on 19, while Arsenal follow with 13 wins.
Recent Premier League winners:
- 2023-24: Manchester City
- 2022-23: Manchester City
- 2021-22: Manchester City
- 2020-21: Manchester City
- 2019-20: Liverpool
- 2018-19: Manchester City
- 2017-18: Manchester City
- 2016-17: Chelsea
- 2015-16: Leicester City
- 2014-15: Chelsea
- 2013-14: Manchester City
- 2012-13: Manchester United
- 2011-12: Manchester City
2024/25 Premier League Relegation Candidates
A number of teams were lucky to stay in the Premier League last season and the likes Brentford and Nottingham Forest will be battling relegation once again.
Newly promoted teams Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton are favourites to go down however. We’d certainly back the Tractor Boys to face the drop, while Everton and Fulham will also find it a struggle this season.
Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Newcastle are being tipped to do well, while Brighton and Wolves could be worth a punt on relegation.
Bournemouth are a value bet at 9/1 in our opinion, despite the Cherries finished 12th last season. Their best player Dominic Solanke, who contributed for 22 of 54 goals scored last year, moved to Tottenham.
