Manchester City have collected an amazing 198 points in the last two seasons and have strengthened by breaking their transfer record again to sign Rodri from Ateltico Madrid for £62.8 million. They didn’t drop a single point in the last 14 games of the season.
Liverpool racked up 97 points over the season, losing just one game. They are likely to give everything to the league season after falling so short last time and winning the UEFA Champions League. They are yet to lift the Premier League trophy since its redesign in 1992. Jurgen Klopp hasn’t exactly gone big so far in the transfer market but he can rely upon the same players that were crowned European champions.
After winning last term's Europa League, Chelsea have undergone another summer of transition, with Maurizio Sarri moving to Juventus. Frank Lampard is the man tasked with maintaining Chelsea’s place in the Top 4. Christian Pulisic (signed last season) is an exciting addition and will be hoping to make an instant impact, but it will be hard to replace star player Eden Hazard.
Tottenham failed to make a single signing last summer but managed to contend the Champions League final against Liverpool and provided even a hint of challenge to the top two until their somewhat disastrous capitulation in the latter stages of the season. They signed Tanguy Ndombelè from Lyon but question remains over the strength in depth in Mauricio Pochettino's squad.
After José Mourinho was sacked, Man UTD had an impressive start under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, before things tailed off and they finished the season poorly. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire are great additions but questions remain over the futures of Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku, as well as Bruno Fernandes and Paulo Dybala as potential arrivals.
Arsenal really need to step up to get involved in the title fight. Defense remains a concern while the attack has been strenghtened with the purchase of Pèpè from Lille. The Gunners are massively short at the back going into the new campaign (Laurent Koscielny also left the club) and if it is not addressed then that is a serious worry for their top-four or even top-six hopes.
Everton finished the season strongly and are expected to carry that into this campaign (expecially if we consider the arrival of Moise Kean from Juventus) while Leicester have made improvements to their squad, although losing their key defender in Harry Maguire to Manchester United.
West Ham have recruited well, too, but could be more impressive going forward than at the back. Crystal Palace could struggle after selling Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and, probably also Wilfried Zaha before the transfers deadline.
