Ireland have won just one of their last seven matches

Ireland are bottom of group B4 with 1 point from 2 matches. They lost the reverse fixture 1-4 to Wales and drew 0-0 with Denmark in the second group fixture on Saturday. They only mustered three shots to Denmark's 15. Ireland and Wales were in the same qualifying group for the 2018 World Cup. The Boys in Green defeated the Dragons in the last qualifying game to secure a play-off spot but could not scale the Denmark hurdle in the play-off.

Shane Long should continue to lead the line for the home side but the unavailability of skipper Seamus Coleman will be a huge blow. Matt Doherty is expected to start as number ten, while Harry Arter, Callum O'Dowda and Cyrus Christie will feature from the off in the middle of the park. The likes of James McClean and Jeff Hendrick will start as full backs, while Kevin Long, Shane Duffy and Richard Keogh will form the three man backline.

Wales have only won once in their last five games

Wales have a 1W 1L record in the UEFA Nations League so far. The Dragons started their quest with 4-1 defeat of Ireland but lost 0-2 to current group leaders Denmark three days later. Prior to that, Ryan Giggs began his tenure with an 8-0 hammering of China in the semi-final of the China Cup before losing 0-1 to Uruguay in the final. That was followed with a 0-0 draw with Mexico in an international friendly.

Sam Vokes ad Tyler Roberts are expected to lead the line for the visitors since Gareth Bale has withdrawn from the squad and returned to Madrid to continue his recovery from injury. Furthermore, Aaron Ramsey will miss out for family reasons while Ethand Ampadu is sidelined with a knww injury. Joe Allen and Andy King will start in the middle of the park, while David Brooks and Tom Lawrence are expected to play out wide. Defensive duo Paul Dummett and Chris Mepham are also unavailable. Uncapped duo Gwion Edwards and Kieron Freeman have been called up to replace the duo.
