SCOTLAND v POLAND BETTING PREVIEW
Scotland are fourth in the group on 11 points, four behind Ireland and six behind Poland with two games remaining. A win for them in either of their final two fixtures would end Scotland's hopes, but with games against Germany and Poland to come, Scotland will still be hopeful that the Republic could slip up. The Scots had won all three of their home games in this qualifying pool before making Germany pull out all of the stops in a 2-3 defeat last time out.
Gordon Strachan has selection issues in midfield with James Morrison suspended, his West Brom colleague Darren Fletcher nursing a knock, Charlie Mulgrew having already pulled out due to injury and Ikechi Anya also doubtful. Aberdeen full-back Graeme Shinnie earns his first call-up, while uncapped Kevin McDonald was forced to withdraw.
Poland currently occupy an automatic qualification spot in Euro 2016 Group D. A victory in Glasgow would rule the Scots out of contention and will keep the pressure on Ireland, who are aiming to bridge the two-point gap for second place. The Polish team were defeated by Germany back in September, but they responded straight away to put eight goals past Gibraltar.
The visitors will expect to be near enough full strength for the journey to Scotland. Swansea’s Lukasz Fabianski is almost certain to keep his place in the starting line-up while Jakub Blaszczykowski rediscovered his form at Fiorentina and wil start in midfield. Milik and Lewandowski will lead the line.
The last time the two sides met it was an entertaining 2-2 draw. The Tartan Army had found themselves 2-1 up at one point in the game, but succumbed to a late Arkadiusz Milik goal to draw 2-2 in Poland. Robert Lewandowski has scored sixteen goals in his last eight games for both club and country. A remarkable run of form that has seen him fail to score in just one of his last eight appearances.
