SWITZERLAND v POLAND BETTING PREVIEW

Switzerland came through Group A as runners up to France. Their win against Albania on the opening day was followed by consecutive draws against stronger sides Romania and France. They came away from the group stage undefeated and conceded just one goal, which came from a penalty against Romania. The big problem for the Swiss is they just haven’t had that cutting edge in front of goal.

Vladimir Petkovic is expected to stick almost with the same line-up that started against France as they have have no pressing injury concerns ahead of this clash. There are slight concerns on the fitness situation of Admir Mehmedi, but he is expected to be fit in time to start. So, the only change will see Haris Seferovic come into the starting XI in place of Breel Embolo on the frontline.

Poland remained unbeaten and kept a clean sheet in each of the three matches, having recorded respective 1-0 wins over Northern Ireland and Ukraine with a goalless draw against world champions Germany sandwiched in between. The Poles collected seven points as well as Germany but had to settle for second place due to an inferior goal difference. Anyway, after scoring 33 goals during qualifying, Poland’s goals have now gone dry. They finished with just two goals in three group games.

Adam Nawalka can be expected to make a number of changes to the starting XI. Bartosz Kapustka serves a one-match suspension with Kamil Grosicki set to come into the team on the left. Lukasz Fabianski is likely to retain his berth in goal as Wojciech Szczesny is still carrying a thigh knock sustained in the win over Northern Ireland. Arkadiusz Milik and Robert Lewandowski, of course, are expected to continue up front.
