UKRAINE v POLAND BETTING PREVIEW
Ukraine are bottom of the quartet after two defeats, both by a 2-0 scoreline, against Germany and Northern Ireland. They have nothing left to play for as they will finish bottom of the group even if they bag a big win over Poland, since Northern Ireland stays above on head-to-head advantage. Anyway, head manager Fomenko stated on the latest conference that they believe in victory against Poland.Boss Mykhaylo Fomenko is likely to make wholesale changes and give some of the younger players in the squad a chance. Anyway, star players such as Konoplyanka and Yarmolenko wil retain their starting berth. Up front, Roman Zozulya could come in up front in place of Yevhen Seleznyov.
Poland picked up four points from their opening two fixtures against Northern Ireland and Germany respectively. They beat 1-0 Northern Ireland in their Euro 2016 opening match courtesy of a goal scored by Arkadiusz Milik. They had the better chances in their 0-0 draw with Germany but both Lewandowski and Milik missed the best chance of the game from close range. The Poles will qualify for the knockouts even with a draw. But, if Northern Ireland manage to mount an upset against Germany, they are likely to finish third in the group.
Goalkeeper Wojcjech Szczesny remains sidelined with the thigh injury he picked up against Northern Ireland and will be replaced by Lukasz Fabianksi. However the outfield ten are likely to remain the same after a very creditable performance against Germany last time out, meaning that Lewandowski and Milik will lead the line once again. Teenage talentm Bartosz Kapustka is pushing for a start after impressing in the 1-0 win against Northern Ireland in the first group game.
