Union Berlin are undefeated in six of their last 8 home matches in the Bundesliga, winning five

Union Berlin look comfortable in their quest for a second Bundesliga campaign even if they have been inconsistent so far. The capital's club currenly sit 11th in the division and eased away from the relegation zone on the back of strong home form. Their last match was a 3-1 loss at Freiburg, although Sebastian Andersson scored his 12th goal of the season. Die Eisernen's first and only direct encounter against the German champions came in late October with Bayern running out 2-1 winners at the Allianz Arena.

Yunus Malli is not back in full training after recently testing positive for COVID-19 while centre back Marvin Friedrich is suspended after being sent off last time out. Sheraldo Becker and Akaki Gogia are sidelined while Felix Kroos, brother of the slightly more talented Toni, has shaken off a back injury. Marius Bulter and Marcus Ingvartsen will support Sebastian Andersson up front, with Christopher Lenz and Christopher Trimmel will play as wing backs in a 3-4-2-1 starting system.

Bayern Munich currently hold a four-point cushion over Borussia Dortmund at the top of the league after recovering from a slow start. Hansi Flick has replaced Niko Kovac as manager and the title holder have started to fire all cylinders. The Bavarians have won 10 of their last 11 games in the Bundesliga and are yet to lose in 2020. In their last three outings before the break, Bayern defeated 3-0 at Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League before hammering 6-0 Hoffenheim. They then reached the German Cup semifinals courtesy of a narrow 1-0 victory at Schalke.

Bundesliga's top scorer Robert Lewandowski has recovered from a knee injury during the two months break. The likes of Serge Gnabry, Thomas Muller and Kingsley Coman are expected to play as offensive midfielders behind the Polish striker. Thiago Alcantara and Joshua Kimmich will anchor the midfield. Jann-Fiete Arp and Ivan Perisic are also fully fit while Corentin Tolisso and Philippe Coutinho are still out. Niklas Süle is back in light training after suffering an ACL tear but it's unlikely we'll see him in the next weeks.
