Wolves vs Liverpool betting preview

Wolves have lost five of their last seven home matches in all competitions

Wolves have won just one of their past four Premier League but currently sit in ninth place in after 21 league matches. They have lost their last two home matches 2-0, including defeat to Liverpool few weeks ago. More recently they failed to beat then bottom-of-the-table Fulham, went to Wembley and beat Tottenham 3-1 with a stunning second half display before surprisingly losing at home to Crystal Palace (0-2) last time out. Nuno Espirito Santo's men boast a good record against Top 6 clubs this term - they have already taken points off Spurs, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal.

The home side to shuffle their pack, which should benefit Ruben Neves who has dropped out of favour in recent matches. Romain Saiss and Diogo Jota have both recovered from injury but we expect them to be benched. Morgan Gibbs-White should play as number ten, behind the front duo formed by Leo Bonatini and Adama Traorè. Matt Doherty and Ruben Vinagre will be the starting wing backs in a 3-4-1-2 system, with Joao Moutinho completing the midfield. The likes of Ryan Bennett, Conor Coady and Leander Dendoncker should form the three man backline.

Liverpool will aim to avoid back-to-back defeats after suffering a 2-1 blow against title rivals Man City

Liverpool's unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign finally came to an end at the weekend as the Reds suffered a 2-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City. They had won their last 8 competitive matches before that defeat. Jurgen Klopp's men now top the table with four points over the Citizens and the FA Cup should not be a top priority for the Reds. As to direct encounters, the Reds are unbeaten in six trips to Molineux - winning the last three. They won 2-0 away on 21 December in the first league meeting between the sides for nearly seven years.

Jurgen Klopp is expected to name a fairly strong starting lineup in the West Midlands. The German manager remains without Joe Gomez and Joel Matip in central defence, meaning Virgil Van Dijk and Dejan Lovren will start at the heart of the back. James Milner and Alberto Moreno are favourite to start as full back while Naby Keita and Adam Lallan should join Jordan Henderson in midfield. Up front, the usual trio Manè-Salah-Firmino should be rested. As a result, Xherdan Shaqiri, Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge is expected to lead the line. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster are clearly not available yet.
