ARGENTINA v COLOMBIA BETTING PREVIEW
Argentina's poor run of form culminated with a 3-0 defeat to bitter rivals Brazil last week. They have now dropped to sixth in the South American Qualifying Group and their qualification to Russia 2018 is in danger. The Albiceleste have managed only one win in last five World Cup qualifiers, losing two and settling for a draw in the other two fixtures. Anyway, they are unbeaten in the last 6 matches against Colombia in all competitions with 4 wins and 2 draws.
Striker Gonzalo Higuain should be benched after his poor performance against the Seleçao. Di Maria and Aguero should partner Leo Messi up-front, with Lucas Pratto alternative option upfront. Ever Banega, Lucas Biglia and Javier Mascherano should play in the middle of the park, while Musacchio and Demichelis are likely to play as central defenders. Gabriel Mercado will replace Pablo Zabaleta at right-back.
Colombia are up in third place having taken 18 points from their 11 fixtures to date, and trail Brazil by 6 points. They enter this match on the back of a 0-0 draw against Chile at home, meaning that their only defeat in the last six games was a 2-1 reverse in Brazil. The Cafeteros are not yet in a comfort zone as there are plenty of teams behind them who are looking to leapfrog them.
Carlos Bacca was rested last time out and he is in contention with Radamel Falcao for the lone striker berth. Juan Cuadrado and James Rodriguez will start behind the forward while a midfield three of Abel Aguilar, Carlos Sánchez and Macnelly Torres will aim to stifle the space for Lionel Messi to operate in. Oscar Murillo is supsnded while defender Yerry Mina is out through injury.
