Middlesbrough face Brighton on the final day of the Sky Bet Championship season with both sides set to battle for automatic promotion in the Premier League, a promotion that will be worth at least £170m. MIDDLESBROUGH v BRIGHTON BETTING PREVIEW
Middlesbrough enter the game on a nine-game unbeaten run, although the past three matches have ended in draws. A poor run that saw them losing the first place in the table and questioning their placement in the Premiership as well. Anyway, should Boro avoid defeat against The Seagulls, they will be promoted back to the top flight. Aitor Karanka's men have lost only twice and conceded only seven goals at the Riverside.Boro go into the clash with no fresh injury concerns. Defender George Friend is their only doubt with the player set to face a late fitness test on a hamstring injury with Ritchie De Laet poised to keep his place in the team. Gaston Ramirez, Albert Adomah and Stewart Downing will form the offensive midfield trio behind lone striker Jordan Rhodes.
Brighton have picked up seven wins from their last nine games to bring the race for promotion down to the wire. They have the same number of points as Middlesbrough but only a win will do for the Seagulls in terms of automatic promotion. In spite of even 11 draws in 22 matches away from home, they have been the second best visitors this season thanks to only two defeats.
The Seagulls will be without centre-back Lewis Dunk, who was sent off against Derby County, and experienced campaigner Gordon Greer is set to deputise at centre half. James Wilson will push for a start after his late equaliser against Derby, but Sam Baldock could keep his place up front. Solly March, Uwe Hünemeier and Bobby Zamora remain out through injury.
It will be a hard task for Brighton as they already saw their proud unbeaten record ended by Middlesbrough in a 3-0 hammering at the Amex Stadium in December although the Seagulls have not conceded in any of their last three visits to the Riverside, winning two of those contests.
