Brazil v Switzerland betting preview

Brazil are #1 favourites to win this year's World Cup

Brazil qualified comfortably after topping their CONMEBOL group with 41 points having lost just one game. Tite's side have only lost two of their last 30 matches and have kept clean sheets in each of their last five. The Seleçao played two friendlies last March, beating Russia (3-0) and Germany (1-0). In the first 10 days of June, Brazil beat Croatia 2-0 and Austria 3-0. The Canarinho have allowed just two goals in the last 11 outings. Brazil also enjoys a track record of strong starts at the World Cup, winning its group-stage openers in each of the past 10 editions of the tournament.

Tite has confirmed his starting XI for Sunday's clash. Danilo will be Brazil's first choice right-back this summer as Dani Alves has been ruled out. The Man City's player will form the back four alongsde Thiago Silva, Miranda and Marcelo. In midfield, Paulinho and Coutinho will flank Casemiro while Willian and Gabriel Jesus will partner Neymar upfront. Taison, Douglas Costa and Roberto Firmino provide further offensive options. Fred is the only Brazilian player with physical issue and is not expected to feature here.

Switzerland are unbeaten in six

Switzerland delivered one of the most impressive qualifying campaigns in living memory. In fact, it was only a final day qualifying defeat in Portugal that blemished Switzerland's perfect record, while incredibly consigning them to second place in Group B and a play-off match against Northern Ireland (which they won 1-0 on aggregate). The Swiss team has been in pretty good form themselves of late. They have lost just once in their last 17 games since Euro 2016. La Nati secured back to back wins in friendlies (last March) against Panama (6-0) and Greece (1-0). They drew 1-1 against Spain on 3rd June and beat 2-0 Japan five days later in their World Cup prep games.

Vladimir Petkovic rotated between Roman Burki and Yann Sommer in goal for their warm-up matches, while the back four should be formed by Lichtsteiner, Schar, Akanji and Rodriguez. The likes of Xherdan Shaqiri, Remo Freuler and Steven Zuber are likely to start as offensive midfielders, though it is unclear whether Breel Embolo or Haris Seferovic will start up front. Granit Xhaka and Valon Behrami are expected to anchor the midfield.
