BULGARIA vs FRANCE BETTING PREVIEW
Bulgaria currently sit fourth and four points behind the 2nd placed Sweden after they recorded 3-1 loss in Netherlands in early September. They have been a very tough on their own turf as Petar Hubchev’s men recorded four wins in four home games, beating Luxembourg (4-3), Belarus (1-0), Netherlands (2-0) and Sweden (3-2) in the process.
Boss manager Petar Hubchev is likely to continue with a 5-4-1 formation in which captain Ivelin Popov is favourite over Andrey Galabinov to lead the line. The likes of Georgi Kostadinov, Simeon Slavchev, Spas Delev, Todor Nedelev, Stanislav Manolev will feature from the off in midfield. Goalkeeper Vladislav Stoyanov and winger Aleksandar Tonev are both injured.
France can arguably count on one of the most talented group of players assembled in recent years but Les Blues sit one point clear at the top of the table and their place at the World Cup next summer is not yet guaranteed. They also drew at home 0-0 against minnows Luxembourg last month - just after bagging a thrashing 4-0 win over Netherlands - and recorded other disappointing results during their inconsistent campaign, including a 2-1 defeat in Sweden and a 0-0 draw in Belarus. In the reverse match, France beat Bulgaria 4-1 in Paris a year ago.
Didier Deschamps will be without Manchester United duo Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial. The former is out through injury while Dimitri Payet and Moussa Sissoko have been preferred to the latter. Laurent Koscielny, Benjamin Mendy and Ousmane Dembele are the other injured players while Layvin Kurzawa and Djibril Sidibe are doubtful. Raphael Varane and Samuel Umtiti should start as centre back while Antoine Griezmann is favourite over Olivier Giroud to lead the front-line. Kylian Mbappe, Dimitri Payet and Thomas Lemar should start as offensive midfielders while N'Golo Kantè and Corentin Tolisso will play in the middle of the park.
