The hosts remain without the services of midfielders Robbie Brady and Steven Defour. One significant tactical problem for the Clarets could be the absence of Icelandic winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson. Danny Drinkwater made his Burnley debut in midfield but he is far from 100% fitness. As a result Aaron Lennon or Jeff Hendrick will deputise for Gudmundsson, most likely the former. In defense, Joe Gomez is an alternative at centre-half or right-back should he decides to rest a regular starter. Alisson is out for the Reds and will not return until after the international break. Nathaniel Clyne remains the other long-term absentee after rupturing his ACL during pre-season.
