Chelsea could make it six league wins in a row against C.Palace

Five consecutive wins over Brighton, Southampton, Newcastle United, Burnley and Watford have moved Chelsea into fourth position in the table. They have recorded seven successes in 11 overall, with the only losses coming against Manchester United and Liverpool. Anyway, they have picked up only two home wins in five, against Brighton and Newcastle. Frank Lampard's men played heir fourth Champions League match on Wednesday, scrambling from a three-goal deficit in the final 27 minutes to salvage a 4-4 stalemate against Ajax. As to direct encounters, The Blues have won the last three meetings, doing the double last term that included a 3-1 victory in the corresponding fixture.

Mason Mount picked up an ankle injury in Chelsea’s 4-4 draw with Ajax so there could be a start for Callum Hudson-Odoi, with Christian Pulisic moving into the number ten role. Tammy Abraham should lead the line, although Michy Batshuayi is pushing for a role in the first XI against his former club. The fit-again N'Golo Kante will be expected to slot in alongside Mateo Kovacic with Jorginho and Barkley unavailable, while Emerson Palmieri appears to be Lampard's favoured option at left-back when fit. Reece James and Andreas Christensen are alternatives at right-back and centre-half respectively. Antonio Rudiger, Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek remain sidelined.

Crystal Palace have won 11 league away matches since the start of last season

Crystal Palace this contest in ninth place with 15 points. The Eagles enter their fourth game in a row against one of the league's current top five - falling short against City and Leicester in the process but earning a valuable draw away to Arsenal in between those losses. Cheikhou Kouyate and Gary Cahill both suffered respective head injuries last time out but should recover in time to feature. Andros Townsend could miss his second straight match with a muscle strain. Manager Roy Hodgson is also sweating the availability of James McArthur, who was forced off late versus Leicester with a back issue. The fit-again Martin Kelly may also have to be content with a place on the bench given that James Tomkins has now re-established himself at centre-half alongside Cahill. The likes Connor Wickham and Mamadou Sakho both sit out the trip to Chelsea.
