Mares' Chase Betting Preview
The Mrs Paddy Power Mares' Chase is the penultimate race on the final day of the Cheltenham Festival - it was introduced in 2021, so this will be the fourth renewal of this race.
The Grade 2 steeplechase, run over 2m4f on the New Course at Prestbury Park, replaces the Centenary Novices’ Handicap Chase (Close Brothers Novices’ Handicap Chase) on the programme.
And now we take a closer look at this year's Mares' Chase and try to determine which horse is likely to prevail.

Who will win the Mares' Chase 2024?
DINOBLUE, who finished second in the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Challenge Cup Handicap Chase at the Festival twelve months ago, currently heads the market. After winning at Naas and Leopardstown this term, she finished runner-up to El Fabiolo at the Dublin Racing Festival, with the horse getting relatively close to the odds-on favourite.
ALLEGORIE DE VASSY, second behind Impervious last year, bounced back to form with a brilliant win over two miles at Naas last time out. She looked to have curbed her tendency to jump to the right when winning last time.
Gavin Cromwell's LIMERICK LACE romped to victory at Clonmel in October before a brilliant second to Coko Beach in the Troytown. She recorded a 10-length success at Down Royal last time out.
Her stablemate BRIDES HILL has won all three of her starts this season at Listowel, Fairyhouse and Huntingdon. This will be a step up in class, but she won a Listed contest last time at Huntingdon in January.
Dark horses?
RIVIERE D'ETEL is likely to run for Gordon Elliott, following her win over Alegorie De Vassy at Fairyhouse, but shed tends to jump violently right and this could be a little handicap in this company. She fell in last year's race.
MARSH WREN has done nothing wrong since switching to fences. She has only been beaten by Arclight since going chasing this term and beat two useful Irish rivals at Thurles on her most recent start.
PINK LEGEND cannot be ruled out lightly despite Venetia Williams' ten-year-old has been a little out of form this season. She has made the frame in the last two editions of this race.
CAROLE'S PASS, FANTASTIC LADY and HARMONYA MAKER also come with top 3 ambitions in a very "hard to call" renewal this year.

Ruby Walsh's Tips
"The way Gordon Elliott talks about Brighterdaysahead is infectious. When he isn’t on the fence about one of his runners it’s worth listening. I can’t desert Willie Mullins’ Jade De Grugy but maybe I should listen to Gordon!"2024 Mares' Chase Free Bets
