TURNERS NOVICES HURDLE BETTING PREVIEW

The Turners Novices’ Hurdle (named Gallagher Novices’ Hurdle last year) will open day two of the Cheltenham Festival. The race has changed sponsor many times in recent years, as it had also been known as the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle. The contest is a Grade 1 hurdle race covering two miles and five furlongs, for horses aged four years and upwards. It is one of the best novice hurdle races of the season and usually brings together some of the best up and coming horses.

In the last ten years alone we have seen the likes of Faugheen, The New One, Simonsig, Samcro and Yorkhill stride to victory in the Turners.

And now we take a closer look at this year's Turners Novices' Hurdle and try to determine which horse is likely to prevail.

Who will win the Turners Novices Hurdle 2025?

Our racing experts are analysing the entries and the odds and will share their thoughts very soon.

Ruby Walsh's Tips

"I thought Final Demand was impressive at the Dublin Racing Festival. It was 2m 6f on pretty slow ground. He’s been a really good jumper, I thought he looked a through stayer when winning at Leopardstown. Ultimately Final Demand is probably the best horse in the Turners Novices Hurdle, but that doesn’t mean he’s guaranteed to win the race.
The Yellow Clay is a tough horse who jumps well. Gordon Elliott was debating whether to take him out of the Lawlors of Naas as he thought the ground was too soft for him. He won though but Gordon thinks he wants a sounder surface."
