Croatia are many people’s dark-horses to win this tournament

Croatia were the more impressive side in the group phase. Very strong in midfield, they played some quality football in the group stages. The Blazers won all their matches, beating 2-0 Nigeria, 3-0 Argentina and 2-1 Iceland last time out - although Zlatko Dalic's wholesale changes to his usual line-up. Croatia have reached the knockout stages of the World Cup for only the second time after 1998. They finished third that year. Six of Croatia’s seven goals at this year’s World Cup have been scored in the second-half.

Dalic made eight changes to his line-up for the final group game against Iceland but he is expected to restore most of his first-choice players. We can expect the same line-up which cruised past Argentina 3-0 in the second round.The likes of Ivan Rakitic, Marcelo Brozovic and Mario Mandzukic will back to the starting XI. The latter will be flanked by Ante rebic and Ivan Perisic up front, with Andrej Kramaric providing a viable alternative. In defense, Domagoj Vida will partner Dejan Lovren at the centre, with Ivan Strinic and Sime Vrsaljko as full backs.

Denmark's squad is the youngest in the whole World Cup

Denmark their way out of Group C with two draws and a win. Their progress was effectively sealed in the first game against Peru - despite they were outplayed by the South Americans. The Danes drew 1-1 against Australia and recorded the only goalless draw of the tournament against France in their final group match. As a result, the Scandinavian outfit have conceded just a single goal so far this tournament - a controversial penalty against the Socceroos. They also kept four clean sheets on the bounce in pre-World Cup friendlies. Furthermore Age Hareide's men are unbeaten in seven games.

Manager Age Hareide has few injury concerns ahead of this game, so the squad should be very similar to the one that drew 1-1 to Australia in the second round. Yussuf Poulsen is back from suspension and expected to start on the right in place of Martin Braithwaite. William Kvist is doubtful, with Lasse Schone ready to deputise in the middle once more. Another option could see Andrea Christensen playing in midfield. Nicolai Jorgensen will spearhead the attack after being rested last time out, supported by Pione Sisto and Christian Eriksen.
