Egypt v Uruguay betting preview
Salah's probable absence could be a huge blow for Egypt
Egypt’s warm up games haven’t been promising. They suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Belgium last week and, prior to that, managed a goalless draw against Colombia. They are now winless in six games and have lost three of them. Plus, they have failed to score in three games in the process. Anyway, Hector Cuper's men boast great dressing-room atmosphere and will look to make it count. This is only the second meeting between these countries - the first was a friendly match in Alexandria in August 2006 which Uruguay won 2-0.Mohammed Salah is a major doubt. The Liverpool forward injured his shoulder in the Champions League Final last month and there are still doubts surrounding him. Marwan Mohsen is the expected replacement if the Liverpool star fail to prove fitness in time. Uruguay have won 6 of the last 9 matches
Uruguay are coming to Russia on the back of 3 consecutive wins. They have beaten Czech Republic (2-0) and Wales (1:0) last March and hammered Uzbekistan 3:0 in their only warm up match ahead of the World Cup. As a result, The Uruguayans have shut out six of their last nine opponents, including Argentina. Their 2014 World Cup campaign ended rather abruptly as they were dumped out at the last-16 by Colombia four years ago. Will "La Celeste" make a winning start at Russia 2018?Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez are expected to start at centre back will the star strikers Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez will join forces up front.
