Turkey vs Italy Betting Preview
Turkey enjoyed a very positive qualifying campaign, finishing second in their group behind France and taking four points off Les Blues. They kept eight clean sheets in the process and only conceded three goals in 10 qualifiers. No defence conceded fewer goals in qualifying than the Crescent Stars. Senol Gunes' men earned 7 points from their first three 2022 World Cup Qualifiers, beating Netherlands (4-2) and Norway (3-0) before recording a disappointing 3-3 draw against Latvia. In their two international friendlies ahead the Euro 2020 opening match, Turkey were held by Guinea (0-0) and managed to beat 2-0 Moldova.
Roberto Mancini has rebuilt Italy after the ultimate failure, as the Azzurri failed to qualify for Russia 2018 under Gianpiero Ventura. Across 32 matches of Mancini's tenure, they have won 21 and lost only two (against Portugal and France). Italy won all 10 of their qualifying matches conceding just 4 goals, and are unbeaten in 27 matches, with their last defeat dated back in September 2018. In the last two Euro 2020 warm-up matches, the Azzurri hammered San Marino (7-0) and Czech Republic (4-0). Before the pair of recent friendly victories, Italy had won their previous five encounters 2-0, beating the likes of Poland and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Turkey (4-4-2): Cakir; Celik, Soyuncu, Demiral, Meras; Yazichi, Tufan, Yokuslu, Calhanoglu; Burak Yilmaz, Karaman.
Senol Gunes will have a full squad at his disposal. Burak Yilmaz, who has now scored 7 goals in his last 6 games for club & country, will lead the line in a 4-4-2 starting system. The Lille striker will be partnered by Kenan Karaman whil AC Milan's Hakan Calhanoglu will play out wide. The likes of Merih Demiral and Caglar Soyuncu will be paired at the heart of the backline while Ozan Tufan and Okay Yokuslu will anchor the midfield.
Italia (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Florenzi, Bonucci, Chiellini, Emerson Palmieri; Barella, Jorginho, Pellegrini; Berardi, Immobile, Insigne.
Roberto Mancini will have to make decisions on whom to start in the midfield and attack. Ciro Immobile should get the nod over Andrea Belotti for the central striker berth. Lorenzo Insigne looks a sure starter while Domenico Berardi and Federico Chiesa are in contention for the remainin place in the front trio. PSG playmaker Marco Verratti is not 100% fit and will not be risked. Hence, Jorginho will be flanked by Lorenzo Pellegrini and Nicolò Barella.
Turkey v Italy Predictions
Mancini has constructed an Italy side with a nice mix of youth and experience, but will they be strong enough to shine on the biggest stage? Turkey head to the Euros on a six-game unbeaten run but have lost all four of their opening games at Euro finals – including their opening match against Italy in the 2000 tournament (1-2). The Azzurri are in brilliant attacking form, and are expected to provide constant attacking threat to the Turkish team. Roberto Mancini's men should get off to a winning start and we are backing the 2-0 scoreline. Ciro Immobile or Domenico Berardi are the most likely players to put their name on the scorecard.
