FRANCE v ENGLAND BETTING PREVIEW
France lost their first position in the World Cup qualifying group A after Hugo Lloris's mistake against Sweden at the weekend. The Spurs goalkeeper lost a ball without any explanation in the dying minutes, conceding Ola Toivonen the late winner. Didier Deschamps' men won their last international friendly match 5-0 against Paraguay but before that lost 2-0 to Spain and were held to a 0-0 draw by Ivory Coast. In terms of direct matches, Les Bleus have only lost one of their last seven games against the Three Lions – a friendly at Wembley in late 2015 – winning four and drawing two of the other fixtures.Exciting Monaco youngster Kylian Mbappe could lead the line, with the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Alexandre Lacazette and Corentin Tolisso completing the offensive midfield trio. In midfield, Adrien Rabiot should partner N'Golo Kantè, with Paul Pogba initially benched. In defense, Samuel Umtiti and Kurt Zouma are in contention for a starting berth as centre back, while Benjamin Mendy and Lucas Digne should start as left and right back. Alphonse Areola is likely to replace Hugo Lloris between the posts. There is still no place for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. Other big names to miss out include Tiemoue Bakayoko, Patrice Evra, Kevin Gameiro, Aymeric Laporte and Anthony Martial.
England enter this match having collected a 2-2 draw against Scotland few days ago. Captain Harry Kane was the team's saviour with a last-gasp goal, equalising after Leigh Griffiths hammered home two late free-kicks to put the Scots ahead. The Three Lions lost their last friendly 1-0 against Germany before playing out a 2-2 draw with Spain at Wembley and have yet to win a friendly match under manager Gareth Southgate. Anyway, they recorded a 2-0 victory when they last met at Wembley 19 months ago, courtesy of goals scored by Dele Alli and Wayne Rooney.
Gareth Southgate will probably want to give a few players who didn't start in the 2-2 draw with Scotland a chance, including Fraser Forster in goal, Aaron Cresswell and Kieran Tripper as full backs, Jesse Lingard and Raheem Sterling as wingers. Wayne Rooney has been overlooked while Jamie Vardy is also ruled cause of his thigh injury, meaning that Harry Kane will continue to spearhead the attack. Anyway, Jermain Defoe and Marcus Rashford could play at some stage.
