FRANCE v ITALY BETTING PREVIEW Since finishing as runners-up in the last World Cup France have been incredibly erratic under coach Philippe Saint-Andre. They finished fourth in the Six Nations at the start of the year with only two wins. Anyway, they beat Italy in Rome without conceding a point. France were extremely impressive in their final warm-up game for this World Cup, beating England in Paris.
Les Blues will be without injured centre Wesley Fofana who suffered a thigh injury against Scotland in France's warm-up match earlier this month. His place alongside Mathieu Bastareaud goes to Alexandre Dumoulin. Sebastien Tillous-Borde and Frederic Michalak start in the half-backs, with Yoann Huget on the left wing.
Italy, who have won just three of 36 matches against France, recorded only a single win in their last Six Nations tournament, edging out Scotland in Edinburgh. Their three most recent warm ups saw them beaten 16-12 by Scotland in Turin before being thumped 48-7 by the same opponent in Edinburgh a week later. The Azzurri were impressive last time out as they went down 23-19 to Wales in Cardiff.
Leonardo Ghiraldini will captain Italy in the absence of back-row lynchpin Sergio Parisse. Samuela Vunisa shifts from openside flanker to replace the Italian skipper. The Azzurri will also miss their most creative fly-half in Kelly Haimona, who was forced to withdraw from the tournament with a broken arm. Michele Campagnaro will make his World Cup debut in place of star centre Luca Morisi, who was ruled out of the tournament with torn knee ligaments.
