GERMANY v ENGLAND BETTING PREVIEW
Germany control their qualifying group after winning all four of their matches so far in impressive fashion. They have beaten Norway (3-0) and San Marino (8-0) either side of home wins over Czech Republic (3-0) and Northern Ireland (2-0). Die Mannschaft were held to a goalless draw by Italy in their last friendly outing against Italy last November and have gone 558 minutes without conceding a goal. The Germans have lost just one of their last 13 games (W10 D2 L1), but they are vulnerable having lost to such luminaries as Slovakia and the United States in home friendlies.Joachim Low is likely to play with his favourite system, the 4-2-3-1. Mario Gomez has scored 12 goals in Bundesliga this season and is expected to lead the line. The likes of Leroy Sanè and Julian Draxler will start out wide while Mesut Ozil should play in the number 10 role despite his recent fitness problems. Toni Kroos and Sami Khedira will dictate the tempo in mdifield, with Liverpool's Emre Can and Dortmund's Julian Weigl as alternatives. Lukas Podolski, who announced his retirement from international duty will make his final appearance while RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner has been named for the first time to the national squad. Mario Gotze is out for an undefined period.
England have not suffered any defeat since last summer's European Championships and are well on course to secure a place in the 2018 World Cup. The Three Lions did win the last time the two sides clashed in Berlin almost exactly a year ago. The Three Lions famously recovered from two goals down to claim a 3-2 victory courtesy of a stoppage time Eric Dier winner. Furthermore, they recorded a positive 2-2 draw with Spain last November.
The likes of Raheem Sterling, Jamie Vardy and Marcus Rashford are expected to lead the line in a 4-3-3 formation, with 34-year-old Jermain Defoe providing the main alternative since Daniel Sturridge and Harry Kane are out through injury. In midfield, Dele Alli, Adam Lallana and Eric Dier are expected to get the nod, while Jordan Henderson is not 100% fully fit. Kyle Walker is a major doubt and should not be risked while Michail Antonio has been forced to pull out of the national set up due to injury sustained last weekend.
