GERMANY v FINLAND BETTING PREVIEW
Germany cruised into the semi-finals of Euro 2016 before narrowly losing against host-nation France. Their recent record in friendlies is poor, with coach Low often happy to experiment. The lack of a recognized striker might be a concern for Germany, who often dominate the ball but sometimes lack a cutting edge in attack.This will be Bastian Schweinsteiger’s final international game and of course the former Bayern midfielder will start. Emre Can has been withdrawn from squad due to a foot injury. Hoffenheim defender Niklas Sule could be in line to win his first cap while Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen youngsters, Max Meyer and Julian Brandt could play at some stage.
Finland are one of the few remaining European nations to never make it to the finals of a major international tournament. They finished fourth in their Euro 2016 qualifying group behind Northern Ireland, Romania and Hungary and have also struggled to make an impact in six friendly matches since then. They recorded just one draw and five losses, including defeats to Poland, Iceland and Sweden.
The talented young striker Joel Pohjanpalo, who plays his club football in the Bundesliga for Bayer Leverkusen, is expected to lead the line. Roman Eremenko is the key player and will start in midfield with Lod, Ring and Kauko.
