HULL CITY v SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY BETTING PREVIEW

Having finished fourth in the Championship standings, Hull City made hard work of their Semi-Final 2nd leg against Derby, edging through as 3-2 winners after establishing a 3-0 first leg advantage. The Tigers enter the game with five wins in their last eight. They are surely Premier League quality, but they had once again shown their Dr.Jekyll & Mr. Hyde nature.

The Tigers be unchanged from their 2-0 second leg defeat on home soil, with Abel Hernández, Mohamed Diamè and Robert Snodgrass providing the key attacking threat and Tom Huddlestone the linchpin of their midfield. Goalkeeper Allan McGregor looks set to miss out through injury again and Elding Jakupovic is expected to start between the posts. Nick Powell remains out injured, but Hull have no other concerns.

Sheffield Wednesday were so impressive in their semi-final win over Brighton, winning 3-1 on aggregate, having ended the season sixth in the table. They have nowlost only two of their last 13 matches (W6-D5). Carlos Carvalhal is the coach who has masterminded their campaign and they are now in touching distance of a return to the top tier of English football some 16 years after being relegated.

Modou Sougou and Joe Bennett remains sidelined through injury for The Owls. Manager Carvalhal may be tempted to retain his starting XI from the one which drew at The Amex last week, with his only real selection dilemma concerning who will partner Kieran Lee in midfield. Sam Hutchinson could get the nod after impressing off the bench during the second leg with Brighton. Gary Hooper and Fernando Forestieri will start up front.

This season, there’s een nothing to separate the two teams in direct encounters. They drew 1-1 at Hillsborough back in October, while a goalless stalemate was played out in their last meeting in February.
