ITALY v SPAIN BETTING PREVIEW
Italy impressed with a 2-0 win over favored Belgium in their tournament opener, and followed up with a 1-0 victory over Sweden. Then they lost their final group game 1-0 against Ireland. It was Italy’s first competitive defeat under the managerial tenure of Antonio Conte and it must be acknowledged that Antonio Conte made eight changes from the starting XI. For the Azzurri this match is a chance to earn revenge after their humiliation in the final four years ago, when Spain ran riot with a 4-0 win. They also met Spain in the group stage of Euro 2012 where they drew 1-1.Antonio Conte rested a number of regulars against Ireland and, as consequence, the Azzurri will be fresher than their opponents. The likes of Buffon, Chiellini, Bonucci, Eder and Daniele De Rossi will be called back into the starting line-up. Antonio Candreva missed their last group game because of a hamstring injury picked up in their 1-0 win over Sweden and will probably miss the rest of the tournament. Up front, Eder and Graziano Pelle will lead the line.
Spain kicked off the tournament with back to back clean-sheet victories over the Czech Republic and Turkey to secure a berth in the knockout stage, but suffered a 2-1 loss to Croatia in their group stage finale which cost them the top spot in Group D. Furthermore, that have given themselves the hardest possible route to an unprecedented third straight European Championship victory.
Vicente Del Bosque has no injury concerns or suspended player so he will go with his strongest starting XI. David De Gea had a dreadful game last time out but is expected to retain his spot between the sticks here. David Silva and Nolito will partner Alvaro Morata up front while Andres Iniesta, Sergi Busquets and Cesc Fabregas will start in midfield.
